Polygraph is an AI-powered fact-checking platform that analyzes content, extracts claims, and verifies them against authoritative sources. The Service provides credibility scores and verification reports ("Polygraphs") for submitted content.

  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Promptly update your information if it changes
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. API Keys and Third-Party Services

You may provide API keys to enable enhanced functionality. By providing API keys, you:

  • Confirm you have the right to use those keys with our Service
  • Agree to comply with the terms of service of the respective API providers
  • Accept responsibility for any charges incurred through use of your keys
  • Understand that we store keys securely but cannot guarantee absolute security

Supported third-party services include Brave Search, Google AI (Gemini), and AssemblyAI.

5. Public Content

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Polygraphs (fact-check reports) are publicly accessible
  • Individual claims and their verdicts are publicly accessible
  • Public content may be indexed by search engines
  • Public content may be shared and referenced by other users
  • You should not submit content containing sensitive information you wish to keep private

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
  • Submit content that is defamatory, obscene, or harmful
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use automated means to access the Service without permission
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code from the Service

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content (excluding user-submitted content), is owned by Polygraph and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our permission.

You retain ownership of content you submit. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with the Service.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Fact-checks and credibility scores are 100% accurate
  • The Service will meet your specific requirements
  • Any errors in the Service will be corrected

Important: Polygraph uses AI-powered analysis which may produce errors. Our fact-checks are intended as informational tools and should not be the sole basis for important decisions. Always verify critical information through multiple sources.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, POLYGRAPH SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Polygraph, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
